Desserts

I recently came across this video and immediately felt the need to hunt down my cake decorating tools.  This is from one of the instructors at the Culinary Institute.  Don’t let that scare you though.  What she does in a matter of minutes is truly amazing and inspiring.  These “cupcake bouquets” would be great for Easter or Mother’s Day.

And if you have never attempted cake decorating with a bag and tip, it really is just as easy as she makes it look.  Just follow her instructions on how to hold that bag.  It makes all the difference.

My tips: Wilton sells vanilla that is clear and will not “tint” your white buttercream.  And if you buy a leaf tip to make these, you may need to open up the tip ever so slightly (pry with a a knife).

Wonderful! I’ve done a ton of cupcakes but have never done petals. Now I know what I’ll make for the teacher’s luncheon this week!

Thanks for the tip on the clear vanilla- didn’t know Wilton had that.
